Default Tips on avoiding scams

The internet is filled with get rich quick schemes, work from home scams, and just outright predators looking for you. There are quite a few things you can do to avoid scams 1. Only use paypal 2.Verify the site yourself any real work from home opportunity should have a number you can call, better yet any online opportunity period should have a number for you to call.3.Never use a money gram or Western union. However I did find out that if you must use Western Union you can wire them the money and put a password on it basically that means the person cant receive the money until you give them the password after you have received the product or service. Also there is a number of online sites you can use to verify a business however you have to take into consideration that anyone can say anything they want to online so weigh out the pros vs the cons as sometimes a company can be a victim of a scam or scammers.

It takes a lot of reseasrching to determine if an internet business is legit. I get very hesitant of sites that after you sign in with your e-mail the site askes for your name, address and phone number. All I want is information, not a marriage contract. My research experience has made me scared to death to trust anyone and have gotten bombarded with spam in my e-mail box with tons of unsolicited ads for everything from Viagra to devices that promise to increase the size of certain part of my anatomy. There are no honest quick get rich opportunities out there. It will require hard work.

jg - I didn't know you can set a password for Western Union.

Are you referring to direct bank transfers via WU instead of the
usual attention to name?

Which means that now the receiver can see the amount in the
bank but cannot withdraw? Hope you can clarify for us.

Apple: Every work either at home or office or field or factory, demands harder to work in order to be rich.

Even if some one rob a bank, still needed to work hard in planning excecuting.

Good Afternoon All,

It seems that there are more and more people (newbies?) falling for every get quick rich they see on a site or receive from an e-mail. Personally I find these snake oil pitches very sad and underhanded. Yes, I have even fallen prey to one or two. Many people fall prey to a lot more than that!!! I am in the process of putting together a short report or website to warn people how to avoid spending their money and wasting their time on every get rich scheme. Can all of you provide your own tip or experience for avoiding these type of situations?
Everybody be honest - we all have done it. How do you now spot a rip-off, scam or get rich quick scheme?

Thanks and I will be looking forward from hearing from you all!!

Many ways but two of the easiest.

1) They promise way too much (millions in a month!!). If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I am answering this as if you are referring to Internet Marketing but the ones I have listed apply to many areas of business if not all. Making money requires work be it on the internet or in an office building or where ever.

2) Every site that is advertising a product should have a contact area - best if it is phone and e-mail...but at least an e-mail address.

OK - one more...

3) They should offer a money back guarantee - no questions asked

Be Safe!!

Make sure they offer a product or service other than the selling of the business itself.

Wow, such a simple question that has so many answers so I will be brief.
Secure sites at purchase have https: at address prefix but doesn't mean it can't be a scam. It just means it is secure for purchase.
Run if you see fancy cars, bright neon graphics, testimonials and last but not least the act quick before offer runs out approach. If the web address is a tinyurl or is lots of numbers and digits. If there is no e-mail or phone contact address listed.
These are just some indicators of scams.
