Default ordered in the net, paid and nothing arrived

have you experienced ordering stuffs in the internet, paid the amount, waited, but nothing arrived?

my bestfriend had experienced that. she ordered an ipod nano from a forum seller. she paid through bank deposit and after a week, no ipod nano was in sight. worse, she couldn't anymore contact the seller. imagine being fooled at the price of $200 above.

this is a lesson for everyone.

When there are several sites who sell stuffs like this, I don't think it was wise to go for purchasing from a forum seller. There are always risks involved in this kind of sales.

As she has already paid, I think the positive part of this sale process is the whole transaction was done via Bank. Is it possible to know who received the money? I think that will solve this problem.

Well, you have a point mpro. I might try checking or better put, tracing who received the money and do the necessary actions. Thanks for your suggestion. I am considering it.

I never experienced something like that before but I read a lot of similar stories from forums. Some people are not really complaining that they do not receive their items. Some were just frustrated by the quality of the items they bought.

I bought a shirt from my friend at the forum and having no doubt on the delivery because it was sent to me after a couple of days. I am enjoying wearing it nowadays. You must check the seller profile first because it's really hard to trust anybody who is involve on selling online and with a large sum of money. On that $200 you have just said, well you can bought a real Ipod on that amount nowadays.

Sorry your friend fell for that scam. I was a regular at a forum when somebody popped up and offered PS3s for sale at discounted prices. Several users immediately spotted the post as a scam and challenged the poster to prove otherwise. He never posted again. It's like policing our community and we have to remain vigilant.

Good thing the other posters immediately figured it out and it prevented somebody from getting scammed. How were you able to detect that the post was a scam? I guess it would be pretty difficult to sense it via a forum.

Can anyone tell us some pointers on how to find out if something is a scam? How did you know that it was a scamm on a forum. A lot of the guys sound so genuine - that there seem to be no benchmarks on how to discern a true seller from a fake one.
