Default Lottery notice

I have been receiving notices that I am a lucky winner of a computer based lottery draw. I have been wondering how that happens if I have not involved myself in any game of chance. These notices came from different sources which have one common meesage to me. I can claim my prize if i get in touch and comply with their requirements.

Default Scam

This is a well known scam. Basically they will get you to ring up which will cost you around £1.50/$3 per min. Then the phone call will last for about 10-15mins!

You will never see any prizes

I know it's a scam but I was not aware earlier how it is actually done. With VOIP around I wonder if that rate still holds true. Calling IDD right now via VOIP is very minimal. Maybe a new variation is being carried out .

I get the same and I'm wondering why. I don't play lottery or visit online gambling sites. And the forums I visit says they don't sell or use my email without my permission. So I'm just wondering how on earth such scams ever heard about me. I have accounts in gmail, yahoo, and hotmail and they all receive such notices.

I get those spam messages too and I don't really care to read them. It's unfortunate that some people still fall for this. Imagine how depressing it would feel like switching from jumping for joy to jumping in frustration!

For me I can always tell they are a scam because they always have a .uk email and talk about the winnings in pounds... being from America, I know right away that this is not legit just for those two reasons alone!

I am sure a US version is coming soon though!

I have been receiving a lot of mails related to that, too. Well, it is very obvious that it is a scam since I didn’t really participate in any lottery. I just ignore the email and delete it.

Angry Sooo Scam...

I have received several mails from a lottery and just by clicking it you get to reach there URL and a registration is required. You are being offered big amount as prizes and lots of notices to catch you interest. As soon as you regsitered, you are being then asked of your Credit Cards Number, for what? Isn't it a scam? What do you think?

It is the most common scam / spam mail that I receive almost everyday. It sometimes gets annoying especially when you are waiting for an important mail and your inbox will get filled with these kinds of emails.
