I think the reason I am the way I am is because my parents were just wretched. Just horrible, icky people from which I had to separate myself. I was in fostercare from 12 to 16. At which time my mother was forced to take me back. I was there for about two weeks and have been on my own since. I just want my children to know that I care about them and what happens to them. I don't want any of the things that happened to me to happen to them.

Last year, in my small town, this 15 year old boy lured a 9 year old boy to his house to watch internet porn and well, icky stuff. I was like, my baby is 9. Well, he was at the time. I was hoping I could get them to at least 30 without having something horrible, ick, nasty poo happen to them.

But one of the moms, the real 'Ice Cream Lady', for whom I fill in for from time to time, is like me in that she basically doesn't let her kids out of her sight except at school. My kids have never slept over at anyone's house, I allow sleepovers at mine, but I haven't let them go anywhere. She's the same way. So we've decided that we can let our kids spend the night at each other's houses because we'll both watch the kids like hawks. lol

My husband always says, "Paranoid, much?" I found one person to whom I'm willing to trust my children to. I think I'm expanding. Who knows...I may even let them date when they are 25. lol
