Re: Network Marketing is NOT about selling.
I did a training call just this past week for our team members. The emphasis was on exactly this issue- I told them I do not "sell" the opportunity. Instead, I have a deep discussion with the person evaluating our opportunity to see if we have a good value fit, if I think they have a great chance to succeed- and if they are willing to put the effort into their own business- following our extensive collective team mentoring program. It is apparent after this kind of discussion if you truly have a good "fit" or if it is better for you both to spend your time and efforts elsewhere.
Don't sell.... instead- look to fill people's needs! The last thing you want is to fill your team with people who are not empowered to learn themselves and help build their own business- they may need guidance- and that is absolutely part of my job to help point them in the right direction- even to give them a head start by helping them with initial expansion of their own team (notice I did not say help them with "sales"!). We do three way calls and have an initial 30 day plan to help steer their efforts while they get started. We also invest ourselves in their success by including them in a Rotator program of leads and sales without their financial involvement until they get started and are profitable. There is nothing that builds a relationship faster than paying it forward!
