I was a operations manager for a very large furniture company here in the mid-atlantic region of the US and we had a few cases where some unhappy customers hod posted on the site.

1. ANYONE can post anything they want on rip-off report substaniated or not.

2. Do you know how this site makes their money? I do.

I contatced this site to let them know wee had resolved our issues with those customers and I wanted the comments either removed or have the site owners post that issues had been resolved in a satisfactory manner and I would certainy provide proof the issues had been addressed.

The response I received was that they are happy to post a "satisfactory rating" for our company but there WAS A FEE FOR HAVE THE RATING POSTED.

I'm not saying there is not good information on the site just keep in mind that business are basically held to a form of extortion for ripoffreport to post THEIR rating and they do not require any proof from the company.

I'll give you an example. This home business I work has 78 reports from either home workers or consumers complaining on ripoffreport. At first glance someone without proper information would think there is a huge problem. Now look at the bigger picture.

The company has almost 70,000 home workers and over 2 million customers so in relation to the overall number of people dealing with the business 78 is a relatively small number.

All i'm sayig is take just about ANYTHIN you read online with a grain of salt and do not use any site as a single and final source of information.

Many people use the BBB but do you know that the BBB is an independant and inregulated company that generates it's revenues from fees it charges to businesses? It's almost like a legitimate form of organized crime.

Thanks for the info joniki
I thought highly or the ripoffreport.com and have recommended it to a lot of people. It just goes to show how far some companies are willing to go to make their money!!!
